Assistant General Manager

The Assistant General Manager supports the overall leadership and daily operations of the restaurant, working closely with the Food & Beverage Director to ensure exceptional hospitality, strong team performance, and consistent operational excellence. This role helps guide both guest-facing and back-of-house functions while fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-achieving work environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support the delivery of outstanding culinary and beverage experiences by reinforcing service standards and coaching the team
  • Help cultivate a collaborative, enthusiastic work culture that recognizes achievements and encourages team engagement
  • Provide active, hands-on leadership to develop staff and maintain elevated levels of guest service
  • Assist in identifying opportunities to improve guest satisfaction and contribute to action plans that address service gaps
  • Oversee daily operational functions—including scheduling, inventory coordination, and financial support—with direction from the Director of F&B
  • Partner with leadership to meet or exceed financial goals through participation in sales initiatives, labor efficiency, cost control, and purchasing decisions
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and support community outreach efforts
  • Help ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards as well as all company policies and procedures
  • Promote a respectful, inclusive, and harassment-free workplace in alignment with diversity and inclusion initiatives
Required Experience and Qualifications
  • 2–3 years of supervisory or management experience in a premium or high-volume food and beverage environment
  • Experience supporting restaurant openings, hiring, onboarding, training, and maintaining high operational standards
  • Working knowledge of finance, HR processes, procurement, and restaurant operations
  • Strong conflict resolution and service recovery skills
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal abilities
  • Familiarity with sanitation protocols and food safety requirements (DOH Food Protection Certificate preferred or required depending on local regulations)
  • Professional and polished presentation
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
